How Check Out Hunger works:
Every $2 = $25 worth of food!
Shoppers at select local retailers ask the cashier to scan a coupon worth $2, $3, or $5. Donations can also be made online on the Check Out Hunger Virtual Food Drive. Every $2 dollar donation received enables Foodlink Food Bank to acquire and distribute $25 worth of food throughout our local network of over 550 human service organizations in a 10 county area.
What Foodlink Does:
Foodlink Food Bank empowers at-risk communities by providing food, nutrition, education, and resources in Central and Western New York. Foodlink rescues food that otherwise would be wasted and redistributes it to a network of over 550 human service providers especially soup kitchens, emergency shelters and food pantries. Our 10 county area includes: Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates. Click Here for a list of Foodlink Agencies.
In 2007, Foodlink supported agencies provided 4.5 million emergency meals to our neighbors in need.
Receive free Amerks Tickets:
Give to Check Out Hunger TWICE and receive a FREE Amerks ticket to the upcoming home game February 24th at the Blue Cross Arena. While supplies last, there is no limit to the number of tickets you can receive for every two Check Out Hunger donations. Just bring your donation receipts to the Blue Cross Box Office to redeem your tickets.
